Salvation Army Christmas
We didn’t get a good response last week and were short volunteers. We are good until December 21. On this day, we are still short 3 shifts (12:00-2:00, 2:00-4:00, 4:00-6:00). If you can spare 2 hours of your time to volunteer, please let Shawn know. If you cannot make it to your shift, please let Shawn know and he will contact Sandy from the Salvation Army. Also try to get the contact information for the person doing the shift before you and the person who is on after you. It’s a busy time of year and people forget.
Christmas Party
Debbie is collecting the money for the party tomorrow evening at Breton Brewers. The party will begin at 7:00, food at 8:00. It will be $25 per person.
Interact
Bob picked up the t-shirts for the Interact students
Area Governor Report
Gina would like to know if anyone has done activities relating to PIPE (Public Image, Peace, Environment). DG Don Sword is asking these questions. Also to consider the 2017-18 Presidential Citation and to encourage clubs to take a look at this. DG Don Sword wants to send a mid season bulletin and welcomes any ideas that we would like to contribute.
There was also a president’s council meeting on Mental Health- The focus was how all of the clubs could do a joint project on Mental Health. The committee will now do research on how our clubs can get involved. There will be another meeting in January. Debbie mentioned that “We Day” would be a great event to have in Sydney to bring awareness to mental wellness.
WE Day is a celebration of young people committed to making positive changes locally and globally. To learn more, click here
Membership committee
John let everyone know that the membership committee met this week and the discussion was on the survey results. John will be presenting the results at next week’s lunch meeting. At this meeting, we will have a quick lunch and focus on suggestions and feedback from the club. The membership club will be having a recruitment evening on February 22 so please save the date. This will be held at a local restaurant (BP).
• See attached committee list to see what committees you are on. If there are any committees you would rather be on, please share during our meetings.

Charity of Choice- To date, 24 applications came in. The selection committee narrowed it down to 3 applications. Interviews will be held at CBU (6:00-9:00) on Monday, December 11 to make the final decision on one charity. The applicants will present and time will be available to ask questions.
