Financial Reports
Alister:      provided a report for the first 7 months of our fiscal year. Highlights: we fund-raised $5,000 more than what was anticipated in our annual budget.

- There is a reserve in our bank account of about $50,000.00. Alister posed the question: What is our club's plan for this money? Is it intended to be used for a project(s). If not, it should be invested in a flexible GIC to earn money.

- Alister also suggested our club develop a system for evaluating local need so we can use some of this money to support local initiatives.

- Shawn noted that Erika Shea of The Convent has asked to come to our club to provide an update. Perhaps there will be an ask from them.

- Keith asked how our club attracts organizations who need help and encourage them to come forward and ask us for assistance? He suggested a vetting committee. There was general discussion that followed with respect to organizing a vetting committee, creating a list of local non-profit organizations to reach out to, and asking same to come in as guest speakers to help us evaluate the need.

- Shawn also mentioned that local kids sports organizations are meeting and discussing the possibility of building a multi-sport complex for the community. Such a project falls in line with our youth initiatives. He asked if that type of project is something our club would spearhead? There was general discussion that followed with respect to what type of project(s) our club wanted to take on, whether we would do several little projects or one big project.

- In order to move discussions forward on this, we are going to strike a committee. Alister will ask Brandon to send out an email on Clubrunner, inviting anyone who may be interested to contact Shawn. This committee would be responsible for evaluating need of local organizations and contacting them to come to our club and speak.

- Christine asked about whether any monies have been paid yet for the Rotary sportsfield in Open Hearth Park. The answer is no, we have not yet been asked to pay anything and as such, it is not included on the financial statement provided. Kevin Armstrong of the morning club is working on the details of this project.

If there is anything you would like for her to bring to the District level please let her know. Also, on July 1, 2020 a member from the Northside club will be taking over as Area Governor.

12) President's Report

-  Shawn received a call that the RI President will be in Moncton in May. Shawn was asked whether our club would like to send any representatives to a reception they are having there. They are asking for representatives to attend from clubs celebrating their 100th year this year. There are two clubs from District 7810 and two clubs from District 7820 celebrating their 100th this year. Shawn will confirm the date of the reception and provide further information when he has it. Bob suggested we find out which other club in our district is celebrating its 100th year as it would be good to set up some communication with them about it.
