The Rotary Minute was about a former member of our Rotary Club, Stewart Hickey. He bought the Crowell's business downtown. He brought a lot of business to Cape Breton through his work on a provincial body.

- The club was involved with the Caleb's Courage fundraiser last week.
Conference Committee

- Committee wants our Club to provide a contact person for fundraising and sponsorships for the Conference
- as our Club is sharing in hosting this year's Conference, Committee will be seeking up to $2,000.00 from our Club. Bob will prepare and send in the request form. Bob is the head of the Youth Committee. Hoping to remove the cap to welcome more students.

- he began by thanking our Club for our support over the years
- provided overview of the new Cancer Centre, which will be a new building located at the back of the hospital. ~65,000 square feet
- plan for construction to begin next summer/fall and be complete in 2023
- they are going to run a 5 year fundraising campaign
