Sad Fine for Scott: although he did get a hair cut, he couldn’t get a sucker at the barber, as was his pre-COVID custom.
Happy Fine for Brandon: he has launched a new enterprise.
Scott reminded us that we should do something nice for Irene Khattar at the end of the month as John will be retiring and home full-time.
8) Committee Reports
Rotary Park Paper Chase
Scott:
the Rotary Park Paper Chase will take place on this coming Saturday, June 13, beginning at 9 AM, Rotary Drive entrance. We'll have some garbage bags, but please bring your own gloves. Reachers can be helpful to save your back.
Crossroads
We had approved a donation of $6,500 for the purchase of gym equipment for their wellness centre, to be called the Rotary Wellness Room. Since then Crossroads has identified further needs for equipment, apparel, and fitness activities off-site. An additional $3,200 will be required. There will be a directors’ meeting on June 11 at 8 AM so at that time the Treasurer will be consulted and a recommendation could be brought to the Annual General Meeting on the last Tuesday in June.
9) Other Business
An Interact exchange student from Venezuela would like to study journalism at Kings College. Clubs in our district are being asked to contribute $500 to $1,000. We will invite a speaker to our next meeting to provide more information.
