  • to register, click on:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Brandon:
  • Our club has 38 active members, this number does not include honorary members. Accordingly, because we have more than 37 members, we have two voting delegates at the AGM.

Joe:
  •  Confirmed that he had sent confirmation to the District that Darren and Christine will be our Club's Voting Delegates at the AGM

Christine:
  • Reviewed the agenda for the AGM (found in email sent to our club by Gina on May 22, 2020 - the email originates from Louisa Horne)
  • expressed concern that as a voting delegate at the AGM, she has not yet received any documentation that is to be approved at the AGM  (financial statements, minutes, budgets, etc).
  • as a voting delegate, she wished to have the opportunity to receive feedback from our Club Members on these documents prior to the vote.
  • The only documents that have been provided by the District to date are the biographies of the four candidates running to be the representative for our District on RI Councils on Resolutions and the Council on Legislation  (These were provided via email to the club by Gina on May 22, 2020 - which email originated from Louisa Horne). If any members have a particular person they would like our Club to vote for, please contact Darren or Christine before the AGM this Friday.

Gina:
  • advised there is a meeting for the District Board on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 and perhaps at that time they will be approving the documents to go before the membership at the AGM.

Brandon:
  • Searched the District website and was able to locate the Minutes from the 2019 AGM (which are to be approved at the AGM on Friday). He emailed them to Christine. Christine has since uploaded them onto Slack for anyone who is interested.

 Going Forward:
  • Both Brandon and Gina were going to contact Louisa Horne to receive additional information on when the voting delegates would receive the required documentation.
  • When Christine receives additional documentation, she will post it onto Slack for review and comment of Members, but does not know when she will receive it.
  • If Members have any comments or concerns about anything to be voted on at the AGM, please contact Darren or Christine before the AGM Friday night

Update since the meeting:
  • Christine uploaded the Minutes from the 2019 AGM into Slack, for review and comment by Members.
  • After the meeting, both Brandon and Gina emailed Louisa Horne.
  • Louisa Horne responded Tuesday afternoon stating:
"The financial documents will be presented to the Board tomorrow night and then will be distributed.  The main vote is on the Council of Legislation rep and the bios of the 4 candidates were sent with the notice."

She also stated that Louise MacLeod is the Area Governor candidate for Cape Breton.
