Ralph Gold - Texas, USA
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Rotarian Ralph Gold to our meeting. He is visiting from Texas, USA, as a cruise ship vacationer. He shared with us some information about his club and local area, which was quite interesting. In a community of only 11-12K people, their club has 105 active members! They are a centrepiece of their community, contributing large fundraising amounts to local projects (hurricane Harold relief, and upcoming new hospital). They operate one major fundraiser annually, this year bringing in over $150,000!! Certainly inspirational. Well done.
